Gracious Pilot, Straitly Guide Me

Verse 1 Christ the master of the ocean, On the which I set my sail,
Wilt Thou order ev'ry motion, And o'er all my state prevail.

Verse 2 When the gates of life beset me, And the light'ning kindles fear,
Let not any force indebt me— May I know that Thou art near.

Verse 3 Lead me on, beloved Savior, And abide within my heart,
Let me bask in truth and favor, And my all to Thee impart.

Refrain Gracious Pilot, straitly guide me O'er life's troubled way;
From the perils safely hide me! And ever be my stay.
